Bjornstad Cellars of the Russian River Valley
Bjornstad Cellars of the Russian River Valley was opened by Greg Bjornstad after he spent time studying at the University of California Davis and then interning at Chateau Lafite Rothschild in France, followed by a long career at outstanding vineyards in northern California, including Newton Vineyards. The house style is balanced and tight wines, which could certainly benefit and award a collector willing to put them away in a cellar for years or even decades. This exacting quality has made Bjornstad an excellent choice for a wine gift since the first day it opened it’s doors. Both consumers and even more spectatularly, wine critics have fallen in love with the winery and it’s style. Scores above 90 points come in vintage after vintage with many of the Pinot Noir offerings sitting at the absolute top of the quality spectrum, not only among California Pinot Noir but world wide, including Burgundy.
